Act out = expressar (algo, emoção) em ações - The children were told to act out a verse of their favourite poem. - children act out what they see. Act up = agir de maneira diferente do normal ou esperado, apresentar defeito - As soon as one of the kids starts acting up, the others follow. - Her car has been acting up again. Add on = acrescentar algo, incluir - There are proposals to add more money on income tax Add up = somar algo, fazer adição, fazer sentido (geralmente negativo) - I can add up in my head easily. - Why would he accept a job offering less money, it just doesn't add up.
